Masters Commission was established for two main reasons. One is for the discipleship of young men and women. The second is to edify the church body out of which Masters Commission operates. With that in mind, we have centered our Masters Commission year round programs and ministries that will maximize both the discipleship of the students and the progress of the church. Masters Commission is a discipleship program, a huge part of being an effective disciple is knowing how to serve your church. Every great leader knows how to serve, and one of the best qualities of a great leader is the fact that they can still be teachable. Some of our church ministries include the 26Nine youth group, kid's church, and our drama class on Wednesday nights.
The youth program in our church is run by our youth pastor, Pastor Nick Huisinga. He has a huge vision for the youth ministry and where he would like to see it go in the next few years. We as MCA run alongside his vision to be of whatever help we can. That includes being involved in the youth nights, after school program and game room. The game room has been recently remodeled and outfitted with pool tables, DDR, air hockey and several X-BOX 360's, and serves as a successful tool to bring in several school aged kids for the youth nights.
Our Kid's Church has recently taken on new Children's Pastors, Pastor Phil and Chanda Hahn. They have taken the already excellent children's program at our church and they have risen to the next level of excellence. Being involved in the children's ministry gives you as a student to take on leadership opportunities as a part of the itinerary on Sunday mornings.
Because Masters Commission life is so busy, it's easy if you aren't careful, to become separated from the rest of the church body. We are very careful to involve the congregation in our program as much as we can. This not only allows our students to build relationships, it also builds a strong support for us in the church. For this reason we incorporate a drama class for the people in our church, as a part of our drama institute.
